Master's Q & A

May 10, 2004

Q.
Master: I am an Indigo Child seeking guidance on my own. Where should I start in seeking "Freedom from Suffering?" How is it one goes about working with Rays? Where do I begin in trying to make a difference when to everyone else I am so young?

A.

My dear friend, you may be young in this body, but you are not "young" in the bigger scheme of things. In truth, you are an old wise being in a new form. But that's part of the problem, isn't it? It is difficult to be sagely when everyone sees you as young and inexperienced. The real issue for you is remembering your own and ancient roots, and learning to draw from your wealth of past experience in other physical bodies.

Let me help you recall your own truth by reminding you that freedom from suffering comes not from any place outside yourself. Remember that all suffering is in the mind. Everyone has difficult and painful experiences, but not everyone suffers with them. Some (and I believe you are one of these) face adversity squarely, always asking within, "What am I learning from this experience?" All suffering begins and ends in the mind. Of course, much of what seems like suffering to current situations are only repeating patterns of learned ways of suffering from past lives. This is the very thing that must be discerned, and only the old, wise part of you can do the discerning. It is your job in this life to get in touch with the wise old sage, and maintain that contact throughout your life. In that way, you will not only free yourself, you will show others the way to discovering their own freedom, as well.

As far as your desire to work with the Rays is concerned, you already know how to do this. In fact, in your past lives you have instructed many in various techniques. However, in this life, you will be working with something else, and perhaps teaching what you learn to numbers of people. Your goal this time 'round is to understand the modern Western psyche (and that's a mighty big job!) and then cut through all the layers of illusion that have been amassed by the collective consciousness. The collective consciousness is a field of awareness much bigger than you can imagine right now. What you are looking to do at the present moment is to begin to deeply scrutinize your own mind (or that which you perceive to be a mind). Believe Me, this will give you plenty to occupy every free moment. Learn to take yourself lightly, even humorously, and try to understand the miracle of consciousness. One day you will likely write a treatise or two on the subject. For the time being, live well, love fully and try not to judge others, for they, too, are struggling to understand their own minds. While they may appear older and wiser than you, just remember that older does not necessarily mean wiser when it comes to cutting through the veils of illusion projected and perpetrated by mind. Explore the planet and every wonderful thing about it, and give thanks on a daily basis for the ability to move through illusion into enlightenment. If you get these parts right, you don't have to worry about "making a difference." You will become the difference in the lives of many people, and you will open yourself to what it truly means to be "human."
