Beloved Students:
As we move into 2010, I greet you with much joy and anticipation to witness the year we will create together on behalf of planet Earth! I do realize that the transition this year has been somewhat “interesting” for many of you, and that some of you were literally praying that you would make it safely into the New Year. Since all of you who are reading this did make the shift intact, I congratulate you and joyously share with you the “fresh slate” effect of another New Year.
When you listen to the recorded lesson for this month (Awakening to a World of Possibilities), you will recognize that the theme for 2010 is purification. In the recorded lesson, you will note that we begin the year by addressing one of the most basic areas for purification, that of the food that you put into your body. I decided it was time to once again address the matter of genetically altered foods, since most of you are unaware of the prevalence it is making at this time. This is particularly true for the produce offered for sale in the larger “chain” type grocery stores.
One of the more unsettling aspects of the alteration of produce comes with the recognition that those who regulate the industry do not think you need to know what you are eating. While this topic is not one of the more pleasant to discuss, I do believe it is important to raise your awareness as to the tactics employed by “Big-Agra,” since such will manage to affect nearly everyone on the planet in one way or another in 2010.
Of course, the matter of purification always begins with the physical body, does it not? As you cleanse your cells and tissues, you dedicate the process to cleansing your heart and mind, as well. You must surely realize by now that body and mind are not separate things. While you may experience them as separate, that is only because such is the way the mind prefers to segregate and compartmentalize different aspects of being. The compartmentalized aggregates, you see, are but mental machinations and are thus not necessarily good indicators of truth. In negotiating these apparent compartments of being, you are only approaching what appears to be – not what is.
Thus, purifying body can be (if so dedicated) a deep and profound spiritual purification, as well. As we peruse the effects of our collective work in 2009, it becomes obvious that there are many manifestations of that work seeking emergence into the collectively shared conventional reality. While it may be somewhat difficult to see them all as they arise, the energy of their arising can clearly be felt, or experienced. It is likely that you will bear witness to many more results of our 2009 work as 2010 progresses.
These results, however, do not arise as completed works. Rather, you will see shifts in your own consciousness which will cause you to suddenly observe the world around you somewhat differently. For example, you may suddenly experience a rush of compassion for some societal institution toward which you have never previously felt compassionate. Your response in such a situation may be similar to that of Jesus, when on the cross He suddenly prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do.”
His tender prayer did not arise from any point of condemnation nor cynicism. Instead, it came from a deep and profoundly wise place within the Great Heart (to which He was intimately connected) that understood His slayers not only “knew not” what they were doing, but that also comprehended that most of them thought they were doing something that would ultimately benefit the world (or at least Rome). Witnessing the flow of their hearts stimulated a flow of genuine compassion from His heart.
In like manner, you may awaken to the realization that you actually feel compassion for some of those engaged in the “scamming” that has gone on in your own social arena. You will notice that this is quite different from “feeling sorry” for them, or defending their actions. Instead, it amounts to a Jesus-like response to their suddenly recognizable ignorance.
In using the word “ignorance” here I want to remind you that it is not in any way a judgmental term. Rather, when you see it you will understand that such is merely the recognition of how powerful ignorance truly is. You will note that ignorance is a powerful driver in the co-creation of any societal “reality,” and must therefore be held in great respect and compassion.
As such moments of clarity arise in your awareness, you are also likely to reflect upon times when you, too, were compromised by ignorance of one type or another. As the realization strikes your awareness, you may feel deep remorse for the actions you took (or the words you spoke) while you were “under the influence” of ignorance. When you use those moments of arising clarity to instruct you, you will find that even the highly distortional exchanges you witness offer profound opportunities for deepening your spiri-tual understanding and maturity.
As this process unfolds within your consciousness, you can be assured that something (perhaps something quite profound) is undergoing purification. Hence, one of the spiritual qualities that will probably expand for all of you is that of forgiveness. This is true for two reasons. In the first place, you will not want to carry the excess weight of the judgment active in not forgiving. Secondly, the more you are able to see through areas of distortion in your own perceptions, the greater the growth in your compassion quotient. As your compassion expands, the natural benefit of that growth is forgiveness.
While we start with something that seems as singular as clarity, the spin-off ramifications to consciousness are quite profound. Clarity leads to a deeper understanding of the power of ignorance, which in turn opens one to self-reflection and introspection. These activities engender increased compassion, which in turn activates and amplifies forgiveness. However, the process does not stop there. It turns out that the more you forgive, the more clarity you invite into your psyche, and those karmic projections become weaker and weaker, taking up less and less “space” within the confines of your mind. But further, as the mind is thus purified, you begin to see beyond what appears, and find yourself simply knowing what is.
I hope this helps you understand that purification need not be the trying ordeal some of you conceive it to be. In fact, as you surrender to the process completely, it not only becomes your primary life process, it becomes quite gratifying and profoundly satisfying. Of course, this is only true because you learn to take satisfaction not in the things of the ego, but in the matters of Essence.
Last month we noted that purification is (or becomes) the very force by which your fears will ultimately be conquered. This month we note that purification is also the powerful stimulant to initiating the cyclic flow that transforms ego mind into Essence mind (i.e., awakening insight leading to clarity, leading to compassion, leading to introspection, leading to forgiveness, leading to awakening insight, etc.). Does this give you some indication of just how powerful the energy of 2010 can be in profoundly assisting you in your spiritual transformation? My advice to you is to remain critically awake, and not miss a single moment of this potential-filled year.
As your purification continues, you will begin seeing much more deeply into the perfection of this highly energized time, even though you may discover that more is required of your careful attention than you may have previously thought needed. You will likely be drawn to focus in the blending of the outer world and your inner world. Of course, it is your powerful work in your inner world that will allow you to behold (project) a much stronger, purer, powerful and beauty-laden reality for your own development and that of the entire world. Clearly, this is a time to celebrate the awakening potential of the times.
Know that your every step into greatness is profoundly cherished by your spiritual teachers and lovers. While we await your powerful conversion into greatness, we celebrate your progress and hold only for your enduring success for Earth. Such is our greatest pleasure, and we joyously await your “graduation” from ego to Essence!
